1 shot, killed at Cobb County Zaxby's

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Police say surveillance video may be key to solving a deadly shooting outside a Cobb County Zaxby's.

The shooting happened at the restaurant in the 2500 block of South Cobb Drive just after 8 p.m.

The unidentified victim was shot in the parking lot and died at the hospital. Police identified him as 29-year-old Jarvis McNabb.

Detectives told Channel 2's Darryn Moore they have very few witnesses and conflicting statements.

"It's still a mystery as to what transpired, why it happened or who did it," said Cobb County police officer Michael Bowman.

Michael Jones was working inside the restaurant at the time but saw very little.

"The only thing I saw was one person run across the street with blue on," Jones told Channel 2 Action News.

He called his mother when gunfire erupted.

"Tell mom to come get me because somebody just got shot outside Zaxby's in the parking lot and I heard gunshots," Shenika Mabuya said. "Just glad he wasn't outside at the time, nobody was outside at the time when it happened."

Mabuya said her son was working two months ago when someone robbed the same restaurant and held him at gunpoint.

Police used tracking dogs near the restaurant because some witnesses said the gunman ran away, but others said he drove away.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Cobb County Police.
