CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga.,None — One person was killed in a Canton crash involving three cars Thursday, according to the Cherokee County Fire Department.
The crash happened at the intersection of Marietta Highway and Interstate 575 sometime before 3:30 p.m. News Chopper 2 flew over the scene as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. The interstate and ramps leading to it were closed during the investigation.
Canton police said 31-year-old Amy Finn Watkins, of Canton, was killed. Authorities said six other people were injured. Two adults and three children in a truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Cherokee Fire spokesman Tim Cavender said.
He also said a man in a white Buick sustained head injuries, but was conscious and alert.
