Split verdict for men accused of killing over gold chain

ATLANTA — A Fulton County jury has found one man guilty and acquitted another in the killing of a Milton teen over his gold chain.

The jury found Michael Grant guilty in the death of Chris Walker, 19. Matthew Goins was acquitted in the case.

Prosecutors had said the pair, along with Richard Davidson, followed Walker to his Milton home from an Alpharetta Taco Bell so they could rob him of his gold chain.

Police said that during the robbery, Davidson shot and killed Walker. Last week, a jury convicted Davidson for his role in the case.

Walker's family has been in court for both trials. His mother described the waiting game to Channel 2's Mike Petchenik as "excruciating," hoping to get justice for her son.

Grant was found guilty on five of six charges against him.

The judge sentenced Grant to a life sentence plus 5 years. Richardson must serve life without parole plus five years.
