Grocer bags $3M lottery prize

ATLANTA — A grocery store bagger has clinched a multi-million dollar prize from the Georgia Lottery. Richard Shy of Stone Mountain is one of two winners each to win a $3 million jackpot prize from the Aug. 17 Jumbo Bucks Lotto with Ca$h Match drawing, having matched all six winning numbers.

Publix Super Market #0564, 4045 Five Forks Trickum Road in Lilburn, sold the winning ticket.

Using a combination of his own numbers, Shy picked the dates of special familial events.

He checked the results of the drawing while on his lunch break.

Shy, 65, has worked for 15 years at the grocery store where he purchased the winning ticket.

The lucky winner intends to invest his winnings and pay off bills.

“I have a game plan in process to take one step at a time,” Shy said.

Winning numbers from the Aug. 17 Jumbo Bucks Lotto with Ca$h Match drawing were: 6-10-15-22-26-28.

The second jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Cedartown.

Jumbo Bucks Lotto with Ca$h Match offers jackpots starting at $1 million.

Drawings are held at 11 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.

Tickets are $1 per play. The Ca$h Match option costs an additional $1 per play.
