COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A grand jury indicted two men accused of using a stun gun on a Cobb County woman and kidnapping her child.
Jair Cruz Garcia and Jonathan Tapia Martinez face kidnapping, false imprisonment, criminal attempt and aggravated assault charges for the Feb. 5, 2010 case.
The men broke into the home of Nancy Garcia, used the stun gun on her, tied her up and took 4-year-old Christian Garcia Guervara, according to police.
The men later called Garcia and demanded $100,000 dollars from an insurance policy on her husband who died in a car accident, police said.
Gwinnett County police arrested the men at a Norcross apartment hours after the kidnapping. The boy was discovered inside the apartment and was not injured. Channel 2 Cobb County bureau chief Ross Cavitt contributed to this report.
