Gatlinburg, Tenn. — The City of Gatlinburg will bring the Smoky Mountain Summer Experience to Atlanta Braves fans Friday-Sunday, May 25-27. The City will provide children of all ages a free, one-of-a kind outdoor summer experience and an opportunity to experience a taste of Gatlinburg just as the iconic black bear of the Smoky Mountains does. Fans will have the chance to climb a rock wall, build their own Gatlinburg black bear to take home or donate to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston (CHOA), and meet Gatlinburg's mascot, Zeno the Bear. The event will be located outside Turner Field at the Brick Pavers area during the Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals games.
“Gatlinburg is your summer adventure playground of endless opportunities—you have never been closer to the outdoor adventure, majestic scenery and family-fun entertainment,” said Public Relations Coordinator Jim Davis. “We’re excited to bring our Atlanta visitors a taste of the Gatlinburg summer experience and provide children a preview of potential fun in the Smokies.”
The event is free to the public and will feature a rock climbing wall, a Gatlinburg black bear building station and appearances by Sharky from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, O’Bear from Ober Gatlinburg and Gatlinburg’s mascot, Zeno the Bear. Guests will also have the opportunity to build and bring home a Gatlinburg black bear as a token of the Smokies or may donate a bear to a child at CHOA where Gatlinburg will deliver the building bears to the patients on Tuesday, May 29. Visitors can also enter to win giveaways from Ober Gatlinburg, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Gatlinburg Attractions Association, Smoky Mountain Outdoors, The Edgewater Hotel, The Park Vista, Greystone Lodge at the Aquarium, Clarion Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn Downtown, Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen and the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce.
