SAN FRANCISCO — A judge has ordered John Mark Karr to permanently stay away from a woman who accused him of threatening her.
The restraining order was issued Wednesday in San Francisco Superior Court after 19-year-old Samantha Spiegel told authorities that Karr threatened to kill her if she revealed his attempts to form a cult of little girls to have sex with him.
Karr once falsely claimed to have murdered JonBenet, a 6-year-old beauty queen killed in her parents' Boulder, Colo. home in 1996.
Police served Karr with court papers earlier this month at his father's house near Atlanta. Karr's father says his son disappeared after receiving the papers.
According to court documents, Karr has legally changed his name to Alexis Valoran Reich.
He was not in court Wednesday.
JonBenet and her mother, Patsy Ramsey, who died in 2006 of cancer, are both buried in Cobb County.
