ATLANTA — Power has now been restored to Concourse B at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, following an outage that impacted departures and arrivals, said airport spokeswoman Katena Carvajales.
Delta had canceled at least two dozen flights and delayed more because of the power outage.
FLIGHT DELAYS: Is Your Flight On Time?
Delta Air Lines spokesman Anthony Black said half of Concourse B was without power, impacting Monday morning departures and arrivals. Those arrivals and departures were moved to other gates, Black said.
Two dozen flights had been canceled, but the airline anticipated even more. Passengers were told to expect gate changes and re-routing of flights, according to Black. The flights included domestic and international routes.
Crews were working to determine what caused the outage, according to Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh at the airport.
"It started late last night, but the impact was not felt until this morning," Black said in an e-mail to Channel 2 Action News.
Delta had asked the Federal Aviation Administration to put a ground hold on its flights out of Atlanta until 9 a.m. By midmorning, Delta was delaying flights into Atlanta because the power was still out.
Black said Mondays are generally busy, and this Monday is particularly busy because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
