DEKALB COUNTY, Ga.,None — DeKalb County has a new ambulance provider.
Rural Metro Ambulance scrambled to get 10 ambulances ready by 12:01 a.m. Tuesday. Officials found out Thursday that DeKalb County signed the contract.
Channel 2 Action News asked Christine Hill of Rural Metro Ambulance if they have ever had to get their operation ready so quickly before. "No sir, I have not," said Hill. "We've obviously started new operations before, but we usually have a little bit more warning that this. This was very quick for what is starting as a big operation."

DeKalb County ended its contract with Care Ambulance in June, but waited until Thursday to finalize the deal with Rural Metro.
