Hostage negotiators are on the scene of a reported bank robbery Thursday morning in Jacksonville, Florida, after at least one person held up the bank while people were inside.
The robbery was reported before 9 a.m. at the Community First Credit Union on Edgewood Avenue. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team and hostage negotiators are on scene.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said at least one person tried to rob the bank while multiple people were inside. Reports indicated that about 11 people were in the building. WJAX is working to confirm the number with authorities.
Police said they received a call reporting that someone was shot, but they could not immediately confirm whether anyone was hurt.
Authorities are asking people to stay away from the area.
