Five people were shot and another was killed when gunfire erupted after a peace rally, police said.
The shooting took place around 8:25 p.m. Sunday about an hour after a peace rally ended in a nearby community park, according to al.com.
The five surviving victims were not wounded critically, Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Bryan Shelton told al.com.
