Two police officers were shot – one fatally – early Thursday in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and an active search for the shooter is ongoing.
The officers were shot about 4 a.m. after responding to a domestic situation on Woodcrest Road. WPXI's Steven Fisher reported that one officer has died.
Fisher reported that one officer was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital and the other was taken by an ambulance to Canonsburg Hospital.

Additional police activity was reported on West College Street. A neighbor there told WPXI's Jennifer Tomazic that he heard two gunshots. Roads in the area are closed and neighbors have been told to stay in their homes.
Authorities told a WPXI news crew to leave the area because it wasn't safe.
Some area schools' opening times were placed on a two-hour delay, while others were closed.
No further details were immediately available. Authorities planned to provide more information at a news conference planned for 7:15 a.m.
