Augusta man hooks $150K at convenience store; 2nd windfall

ATLANTA — An Augusta man is welcoming a massive prize from the Georgia Lottery. Ronnie Moss, 49, played the instant game 15X The Money, winning a $150,000 top prize.

Smart Grocery, 3221 Wrightsboro Road in Augusta, sold the winning ticket, and Moss scratched it while at home.

“I can’t describe the feeling. I’m very happy and enthused,” he said. “Bills will be paid!”

Moss is no stranger to winning the lottery. He won $50,000 playing another instant game in 2008.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
