• Alpharetta medical office building destroyed by fire


    ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Firefighters worked to put out the remaining flames at a medical office building in Alpharetta early Friday morning.

    The building is located at 12389 Crabapple Road. The building houses Roswell Pediatric Center, a dentist office and CTS Systems.

    Firefighters said a witness driving by called in the fire before the fire alarm went off around 3:30 a.m. When Milton firefighters arrived, they were forced to take a defensive position to battle the massive flames.

    By 6 a.m., firefighters began work to save thousands of dollars worth of vaccines inside the building. They succesfully removed refrigerators containing the valuable vaccines.

    Approximately 25 firefighters battled the blaze. The Covenant Professional Building's roof collapsed and the structure was heavily damaged.

    Alpharetta's fire marshal/investigator will begin a full investigation as soon as the scene is structurally safe.
