GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — Gwinnett County police spent Friday afternoon searching for clues around a red Ford F-150 pickup truck after a gruesome discovery.
Police said they got a 911 call about two bodies that were discovered along New Hope Road. A dead man was found inside the truck and a dead woman outside the truck.
Investigators said they don't know yet how they died or how long they've been there.
Roy Wallace, 87, told Channel 2s Richard Elliot he has owned the stretch of land for 61 years.
And when I heard it, I thought, Lord God! Wallace said.
He told Elliot he put a gate across this road because he had trouble with illegal dumping.
Wallace said when his friend saw the story on Channel 2 Action News at noon, he called Wallace.
I said, A couple of bodies? they said Yes.' Said it was a red truck and they found two bodies in it. So lord, I didn't know what to think.
Gwinnett police aren't sure what to think either.
One officer told Elliot they didn't see any obvious cause of death and at this point, they aren't completely sure who the victims are.
Until then, police said they are investigating the mysterious deaths as homicides.
We'll continue to do that until we can rule that out. Even if its an apparent suicide, we'll still investigate it as a homicide until somebody makes a clear determination that it was otherwise, Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County police said.
