ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News is the first to learn that a Crime Stoppers reward has just reached $10,000 for information about whoever shot a popular Atlanta rapper's father.
Channel 2's Ryan Young spoke to the family in hope the donation will generate some clues about the shooting at Lamar's Barbershop in northwest Atlanta.
Rich Homie Quan, whose real name is DeQuarius Lamar, and his family are focused on finding the man who shot Cory Lamar six times at his barbershop on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway.
"It's been very hard on the family to have someone who doesn't bother anyone to have an injury that's hard to deal with," she said.
She says Cory Lamar has to use a feeding tube to eat.
Lamar's fiancee says the shooting happened out of the blue, and for the last 30 days, the family has struggled with watching such a strong man suffer.
This family is now praying for help while they endure watching the man they love face countless surgeries and suffer through a painful recovery that will take years.
"It's hard to see him going through what he's going through. "It's not an easy task and we've had a couple of setbacks," she said.
Anyone with information about shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
