Art in the Park

This fine art extravaganza features an artist market, children’s art alley and an artist demonstration area and the famous Painted Pots. It has been selected by Southeast Tourism Society as a Top 20 event since 2007 and is a Kaleidoscope Award winner from the Southeast Festivals and Events Association.

Saturday, Sept. 4

Dragon Con Parade

While the parade is usually open to the public, this year, organizers said that only people with Dragon Con tickets will be allowed to watch the parade in person. And, unlike previous years, single-day tickets to the con are not being sold.

The event includes:

10:20 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tailgate town around Mercedes Benz Stadium

Noon FREE concert by Old Dominion (GWCC: International Plaza)

1:25 p.m. Alabama Team Walk (From The Home Depot Backyard into Mercedes-Benz Stadium)

1:30 p.m. MIami Team Walk (From The Home Depot Backyard into Mercedes-Benz Stadium)

3:30 p.m. Alabama plays Miami (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)

Folk Pottery Show & Arts Festival

Festival goers will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful pottery and artwork of nine northeast Georgia folk potters and twenty-three heritage art vendors, whose tents will be spread across the lawn of the he Sautee Nacoochee Center campus. The featured exhibit in the Folk Pottery Museum is “The Men Won’t Tell Us Anything.” Women of Georgia Folk Pottery (born 1890-1940s).

Field of Flags

Each life lost to the senseless tragic events of September 11, 2001, will be honored by our 5th Field of Flags installation in 2021. This powerful commemorative event begins on Saturday, September 4th and will be open to the public until Saturday, September 18th. The entire community is invited to participate in what has become one of the largest commemorative events in the nation.

Monday, Sept. 6

Chick-fil-A Kick Off Games & Fan Activities

The event includes a FREE concert by Old Dominion (Sat Noon GWCC: International Plaza), games between Alabama and Miami (Sat. 3:30pm), and Lousville and Ole Miss (Mon. 8pm) and plenty of fan events both days.

5:45 p.m. ET Louisville Team Walk (Inside The Home Depot Backyard)

5:50 p.m. Ole Miss Team Walk (Inside The Home Depot Backyard)

Atlanta Jazz Festival

Come on out to The Atlanta Jazz Festival at Piedmont Park! Take in some tunes and attend free workshops on jazz-related topics...The festival is free to attend...Masks are required for any indoor events or workshops
