FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Looking for some local fun this summer? Head to Halcyon in Forsyth County for movies under the stars, totally 80s night and farm animal yoga.
From now through September, the mixed-use village will host ongoing entertainment and activities for guests of all ages to enjoy.
Ongoing event series have already kicked off and the full lineup includes the following:
- Halcyon Farmers Market: Held every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. through December, the Halcyon Farmers Market brings together more than 40 local vendors, offering a variety of fresh produce, flowers, homemade jams, breads and much more. The free event is held rain or shine in the event lot behind Cherry Street Brewpub and Land of A Thousand Hills. - Groovin’ on the Green: Grab a spot on the Village Green or bring your own chair and enjoy live music from local artists every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. This summer, Halcyon is welcoming back favorite acts, introducing new names and expanding musical genres. With the development’s open container policy, guests can grab a beverage to sip on during the free concert and indulge in a meal from the Market Hall or on one of the dog-friendly patios (no coolers or outside food or beverages are permitted). - Yappy Hour: Tuesday nights are happening at Halcyon! In tandem with the Halcyon Farmers Market and Groovin’ on the Green, Halcyon hosts Yappy Hour every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Village Green. While four-legged friends are always welcome at Halcyon, this weekly doggy meet-up also features adoptable dogs from FurKids Animal Rescue and Shelters. - Family Dance Party: On the first Friday of each month, bring the family to Halcyon and join us for our newest tradition, Family Dance Parties. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m, DJ Jake will play family-friendly dance tunes outside on the Village Green, while guests enjoy games and giveaways. This is the perfect opportunity to show off those dance moves you’ve been practicing throughout quarantine!
- Family Bingo: Every Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., enjoy a little free and friendly competition with Halcyon’s Family Bingo nights. Held inside the Market Hall, each participant has a chance to win gift cards from several of Halcyon’s retailers and restaurants. Guests of all ages are invited to attend and pre-registration is required. Tickets are added to the webpage every Tuesday and one card per person is permitted. - Goat and Farm Animal Yoga: Llamaste! Get your zen on with Goat Yoga on the Green on Saturday, July 17 or August 14 and Farm Animal Yoga on Saturday, July 31 and August 28 at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Yoga instructors lead participants through an Ashtanga-based Vinyasa class as baby goats or other farm animals roam the Village Green. Guests are asked to dress comfortably and bring their own mats and water bottles. The classes are appropriate for all levels, ages 10 and older. - Run, White & Blue 5K/10K & Fun Run: Start your Independence Day with a 5k, 10k, or 1k Fun Run! Join North Georgia Running Co’s Run, White & Blue race at Halcyon on July 4 or participate virtually. The race is family-friendly and a great way for people of all ages to get active, whether walking or running. - Movies on the Green: Catch a free movie under the stars with the new event series, Movies on the Green! On July 8, August 3 and September 5, arrive early to the free event and grab your favorite snacks at one of Halcyon’s several dining options before setting up lawn chairs and blankets in the Village Green. - Run, Ruck & Brew Beer Mile at Cherry Street: On July 10, join Cherry Street Brewpub for a beer mile as they run to raise proceeds to bring a service man or woman home to Georgia. Runners ages 21 and older are invited to enjoy a beer sample with each lap and a large complimentary finisher pour at the finish line. After the race, runners are encouraged to write a card or letter to say “thank you” to our service men and women. All runners will have the choice between three different race waves. - Halcyon’s Got Talent: Does your child have a special talent to showcase? Halcyon invites kids ages 10 to 18 to audition for Halcyon’s talent competition! From now until June 30, submit an audition and complete the online form here. Semi-finalists will be announced July 11 at 5 p.m. and finalists will be announced on July 12. Then, on July 16, set out your blankets and chairs in the Village Green to watch these talented young performers! From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m, the finalists will perform live on stage, with the top three performers of the night taking home special prize packages and their very own trophy. - Totally 80s Night: Join us as we turn back the clock for 80s Night in the Green. Wear your best 80s costume while enjoying DJ Jake spinning all the best 80s tunes and sipping the best cocktails from participating restaurants. Test your 80s knowledge in trivia with the chance to win prizes from select Halcyon merchants. Grand prizes will be awarded to the top male and female costumes, along with several other giveaways and photo opportunities throughout the night.
