CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. — A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for far northwest Georgia Wednesday night.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said the watch includes Chattooga County, which is in the Channel 2 Action News viewing area. The watch is in effect until 10 p.m.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Severe storms are possible through the overnight hours
- Storms could produce damaging wind gusts, heavy rain and lightning
- Heat will continue into Wednesday
- More storms are building Wednesday afternoon
