ATLANTA — Parts of metro Atlanta are under a Level 2 threat for severe storms Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said that storms will move into metro Atlanta around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Parts of Georgia to the north and west of Atlanta are under a Level 2 risk. The parts of the area to the south and east are under a Level 1 risk.

Nitz says those storms will bring damaging wind gusts of 60 miles per hour. While chances are low, he can’t rule out the possibility of large hail or a brief tornado.
By 11 p.m., the storms will have moved out of metro Atlanta.
Around 3 a.m. on Thursday, a second line of storms will start to make its way in through the morning hours.
