'Tunes from the Tombs'

ATLANTA — Visitors would not expect to find lively music in a cemetery, but that's just what they got at historic Oakland Cemetery's "Tunes from the Tombs."  Music lovers enjoyed the 5th annual music festival among the gravesites.  "I think it's just a great idea," says Patrick Leak from Atlanta. "Green space here at the cemetery is meant to be enjoyed.  For the first time, guests enjoyed all local artists like Little Tybee, Sarah Wilson and Blair Crimmins and the Hookers.

"It's an experience," says Crimmins. "You feel like you might be giving the spirits something that they haven't heard in a while, waking them up and giving them some entertainment."

Proceeds from the festival benefited Oakland Foundation’s preservation efforts.
