Trio arrested in Dodge dealership sting

Kevin Johnson; Walter Ray Hamilton; Michael Robert Thimas

ROSWELL, Ga.,None — Three people were arrested in a sting operation at a Dodge dealership in Roswell on Wednesday.

Roswell police said a Palmer Dodge dealership employee told them he was offered $2,000 to leave a key in a Jeep Grand Cherokee to assist in a theft. The employee said a strange man said the car would be stolen after store hours and it would be sent to New York, and then abroad, police said.

Officers said they staked out the dealership late Wednesday and watched Kevin Johnson get into the $47,000 car and start it. Johnson, 36, was then arrested, along with 30-year-old Walter Ray Hamilton and 25-year-old Michael Robert Thimas. The suspects are being held on theft by taking charges.
