Serious, but rare, complications can include arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation and urinary tract symptoms. Meanwhile, pets with salmonella infections may exhibit lethargy or experience diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever and vomiting. Lesser symptoms can include decreased appetite and abdominal pain.
