Presidential debates: When do they start; where are they being held?

President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are scheduled for three debates in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

The Commission on Presidential Debates has announced the date for three presidential debates and an additional debate that will feature Vice President Mike Pence and the person Biden chooses as his running mate.

The first debate was to be held at the University of Notre Dame, but the school withdrew from hosting the debate because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here is the list of debates and where they are to be held:

First presidential debate:

Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio

Vice presidential debate:

Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah

Second presidential debate:

Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Miami, Florida

Third presidential debate:

Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee

Each of the debates will run 90 minutes, from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. ET. There will be no commercial breaks.
