LAS VEGAS — A Nevada man is accused of attempted murder after he allegedly beat another man with a dog bone inside a pet store as they quarreled over masks, authorities said.
Juan Darius F. Hamilton, 22, was charged with attempted murder, battery, abuse of an older person resulting in substantial bodily harm and burglary, according to Clark County online booking records.
Hamilton is being held on $5,000 bail, records show. If he is released, Hamilton will be required to avoid all PetSmart stores and adhere to a 6 p.m. curfew, according to court records.

Hamilton is accused of striking another man at a PetSmart store in Las Vegas on Nov. 8, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. The victim suffered a skull fracture and a severed artery, the newspaper reported.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, witnesses said Hamilton was in line behind another man when the two began discussing mask policies inside the store. Witnesses said Hamilton left the store, returned and struck the victim over his head with a bone, the Review-Journal reported.
PetSmart employees helped detectives identify Hamilton because he was a regular customer at the store, according to the newspaper.
Hamilton told police he had not been to the store for several months and then asked for a lawyer, the Review-Journal reported.
