HOUSTON — Two people were injured Friday night when a small plane crashed through trees and onto a Houston golf course, authorities said.
According to Sgt. Richard Standifer of the Texas Department of Public Safety, a man and woman were inside the plane when it went down, KHOU-TV reported. Standifer said it took firefighters approximately two hours to free them, the television station reported. They were in stable condition, KPRC-TV reported.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to the Pine Forest Country Club in Houston, at about 7:30 p.m. CST, according to the television station.
A plane has crashed in Harris Co. near the 18000 block of Clay Road. Both occupants have been airlifted to a Houston area hospital for their injuries.

Deputies found the 1977 Mooney M20J aircraft upside down on the eighth hole of the golf course, KTRK-TV reported. Authorities said the plane was traveling from San Antonio and was preparing to land at the West Houston Airport, the television station reported.
According to flight records, the plane left San Antonio at 6:13 p.m. CST and was scheduled to land at 7:25 p.m. CST, KPRC reported.
“Both are alive but injured,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted.
The National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation, KHOU reported.
