1 dead, 4 injured in shooting at Kansas City gas station

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was killed and four others, including a child, were wounded Friday after a shooting at a gas station in Kansas City, Missouri, authorities said.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, the shooting happened at 8:21 p.m. CDT, KMBC-TV reported.

One man was killed, while three women and a child younger than 5 years old were wounded, according to KSHB-TV.

The victims were taken to an area hospital, where the man died from his injuries, WDAF-TV reported.

According to Kansas City Police Department spokesperson Capt. Corey Carlisle, the wounded victims had injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

The names of the victims have not been released, and police did not have any information about possible suspects, WDAF.

“We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents,” Carlisle told CNN.

It was unclear what led to the shooting, KSHB reported. An investigation is ongoing.
