On Wednesday, a spokesperson confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that the locations have permanently closed and included a statement from Hooters CEO Neil Kiefer.

Kiefer said the closures are tied back to Hooters of America filing for bankruptcy in 2025 and the original founders “reclaiming” the brand.

“Since these acquisitions, we’ve learned some stores were in various stages of need. The closings are not a reflection of the beloved staff, community or sisterhood of the Orange Shorts. It is not a sign of profit or decline. The number of stores will go up and down, but the longevity of our commitment will not,” Kiefer said.
