Speedy Cell Phone Thieves Sought By Deputies

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is looking for a pair of men who they said robbed at least eight cell phone stores in the past few months.

Investigators told Channel 2's Carol Sbarge the men most recently stole expensive phone equipment from a T-Mobile store on Thornton Road in Douglas County.

Investigator Joshua Skinner told Sbarge the pair works quickly, often getting in and out of a store in 45 seconds.

"It's very bold; we don't normally see this level of team work between individuals," Skinner said.

Skinner identified the men as Warren Thomas Junior and Clarence Leonard. Skinner said the last known address for the pair was in East Point, but so far, they have not been able to track them down.

Authorities said the men have robbed at least eight T-Mobile locations in Douglas, DeKalb, Fulton and Henry counties.

"According to T-Mobile's corporate office these individuals are responsible for $10,000 worth of cell phone thefts in three months," said Skinner.

The men don't pull out a weapon, and they rob the stores when they are crowded, mainly at lunch time, Skinner said.

"They have one motive and that's to steal the devices and get right back out of the store with the least amount of conflict as possible," said Skinner.
