Report: 4 Atlanta Streets Among Most Dangerous

ATLANTA,None — Carter Street is a quiet tree lined side street that literally lies in the shadow of the Georgia Dome, but you wouldn't guess that it's also Atlanta's most violent block, according to a new report on walletpop.com.

The site using data from the FBI ranked the top 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in America based on the predicted crime rate.

Carter Street, just off Northside Drive, is one of four Atlanta streets on the list, and your chances of being a violent crime victim there are about one in eight. The street borders the Vine City MARTA station.

A section of Marietta Street running from CNN Center to North Avenue is the other neighborhood to make the top 10. The neighborhood is predicted to have 307 violent crimes next year, according to the website.

Also on the list is Richardson Street, which intersects the downtown connector west of Turner Field, and Humphries Street in southeast Atlanta's Pittsburgh neighborhood.

A Chicago neighborhood topped the list this year. Residents on West Lake Street in the Windy City have a one in four chance of being a violent crime victim, according to the report.

The website says their study chose specific streets and neighborhoods to avoid making generalizations about a specific city.
