Police untangle web of lies in car crash cover-up

HIRAM, Ga. — It took investigators nearly three weeks to untangle a web of lies in a cover-up involving a car crash that killed a 24-year-old father.

Gwinnett police told Channel 2 Action News that Brandon Gaylor was killed when he was street racing with his girlfriend and three others. Gaylor was thrown off his motorcycle on Duncan Creek Road and ultimately; run over by his girlfriend, Noelle Gretziner, according to police.

Investigators told Channel 2's Liz Artz that Gretzinger left the scene and that her 52-year-old father, Gary Woodruff, helped her stash the car.

Three weeks later, Gretzinger is charged with felony vehicular homicide and Woodruff faces multiple charges including tampering with evidence. The three friends who at the scene also face vehicular homicide charges.

Police said it's rare to have a vehicular homicide in which so many people were involved.

Artz spoke to Gaylor's father, Donnie, Friday night.

"I'm going to miss my son," he said. "I can't get him back."

Gaylor added that he thinks Woodruff should face tougher penalties than the four who were involved in the incident. He said as a parent, he should have known better.
