CARROLL COUNTY, Ga.,None — A Carroll County teacher was arrested Wednesday after he sent pictures of naked men to a student, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
A Crossroads Academy student brought a phone to the Sheriff's Office, complaining of harassment from a teacher, Carroll County Sheriff's Office Capt. Shane Taylor said. The student told deputies that Crossroads online learning lab teacher Richard Lee Delong sent inappropriate calls and text messages, Taylor said.
When deputies took the phone, Delong sent photos of naked men, Taylor said. They asked to meet up with Delong, and he agreed, Taylor said.
After deputies raided Delong's home, he was arrested on felony charges of sexual exploitation of a child. Taylor said they found evidence at his home but would not elaborate.
Delong has been placed on administrate leave, pending the investigation, Carroll County schools spokesman Elena Shulenburg said. She said he has been a teacher for 21 years.
