PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Three men are facing drug charges Thursday morning after a routine traffic stop turned into a HAZMAT emergency.
A Paulding County deputy pulled over a green SUV for an equipment violation on Polk Avenue Wednesday afternoon and quickly became suspicious. The deputy said he suspected the SUV may be a rolling meth lab after seeing smoke coming from a plastic soda bottle.
Deputies quickly closed surrounding streets and re-routed school buses.

"They had their guys out here in their gas masks, their HAZMAT suits, pulling things out slowly and going through them," said witness Matthew Walker.
Investigators said the suspects used a new method called "Shake and Bake" to produce small amounts of meth.
