Cobb Police removed 3 children from deplorable conditions

COBB COUNTY, Ga — Police arrested the parents of three Cobb County children after neighbors called about a fight at their home.

Raven and Robert Sheriff were arrested, not for the domestic call, for cruelty to children charges.

Neighbors told Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt, the kids from the Magnolia Drive home always seemed friendly and in good cheer. They said they did appear to be a little unkempt.

Police came to the home to check on the domestic call, but a court warrant showed that police discovered three young children ages 1, 3, and 5, dirty and living with lice. The home had no running water or electricity, overflowing toilets, piles of trash in and outside of the house and no visible food.

Police also described the home as having glass and nails lying around, broken furniture and an electrical wire attached to a battery that the children could have had access to. Both Robert and Raven remain in the Cobb County jail and are charged with three counts of cruelty to children.

The children are now with their grandmother.
