Thousands of Georgians no longer getting food stamps

ATLANTA — Thousands of Georgians are no longer getting food stamps.

In January, the state told nearly 12,000 people that they had three months to find a job, or lose their benefits.

Numbers released this week show that by April 1, just over 4,500 people in that category were still receiving benefits.

That’s a decrease of 62 percent.
