Super Mario Brothers celebrating 30th anniversary

Super Mario brothers is one of the most iconic video games of all time.
 
Thirty years ago this weekend, Super Mario Bros. was released in the U.S. along with the Nintendo Entertainment System.
 
It was an overnight smash hit and went on to sell 40 million copies, according to Nintendo.
 
Mario and friends went on to appear in hundreds of video games, selling more than a quarter billion titles.
 
To mark the anniversary, this week Nintendo released its newest Mario game, "Super Mario Maker," for the Wii U console.
 
Saturday also happens to be National Video Games Day, in case you needed an excuse to join Mario and Luigi on their adventures.
