GRIFFIN, Ga. — Two people in Griffin are dead and two others are behind bars after a string of drugs allegedly laced with Fentanyl was distributed in the community.
Griffin police said two people were found dead and a third was found unconscious on Experiment Street last week. Investigators determined the two who died likely passed away after taking narcotics laced with a deadly component, likely Fentanyl. Their identities have not been released.

A few days later, the Griffin Police Department Specialized Investigations Unit and the Criminal Apprehension and Gang Enforcement units executed a search warrant. They confiscated 2.09 grams of crack cocaine and 3.29 grams of marijuana.
Rodriguez Deshaun Robinson, 39, and Tasharia Rogers, 24, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and possession of drug related objects.
Investigators believe Robinson provided the laced drugs to the two people who died.

Griffin police have sent the recovered drugs to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for toxicology testing. Based on the results of those tests, more charges could be filed.
