Smyrna apartment fire displaces residents

SMYRNA, Ga. — A Thanksgiving morning apartment fire displaced residents at a Smyrna complex.

Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach said 8 units were evacuated at the building on Charles Street. Gehlbach said 17 people were displaced.

The Red Cross has been called in to help the residents find a place to stay.

Firefighters brought in a truck full of sand to help melt the ice that formed after extinguishing the fire.
