Skeletal remains found in Stone Mountain, investigators need help to identify him

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Investigators with DeKalb County Police and the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office are trying to identify a person whose skeletal remains were recovered Monday in Stone Mountain.

On Nov. 28, investigators recovered the remains in a wooded area off Rockbridge Road. Police received a call from someone who found the remains and reported it to them.

Police did not have a sketch of the victim, but did release a description.

The remains are from a Black man between the ages of 18 and 30. He would have been between 6 feet and 6 feet, 5 inches tall.

He had black hair in dreadlocks that are approximately 3 to 4 inches long.

Due to the condition of the remains, investigators believe he has been dead for at least six months.
