ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating after a man was shot by deputies in Rockdale County Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies were called to the 5300 block of Alexanders Lake Road in Stockbridge.

The GBI says a woman called 911 and said a man she knew was in her house with a gun.
The man was identified as 20-year-old Joshua Valdez of Suwanee.

By the time deputies arrived at the home, Valdez was no longer there. Deputies found him inside a truck on private property in the same area around 3:45 p.m.
When they confront Valdez, he hopped out of the truck with a gun. Deputies shot Valdez and he was life flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital where he is in critical, but stable condition.

The GBI says their investigation is ongoing.
