GSP identifies man killed in Woodstock motorcycle wreck

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators have identified a motorcyclist killed in a Saturday morning crash.

John Meyer, 52, of Woodstock, died in the wreck, which happened around 11 a.m. at Arnold Mill Road and Ohara Drive in Woodstock.

Georgia State Patrol officials said Meyer was driving too fast as he negotiated a curve, traveled into the opposite lane, and then hit a concrete mixer truck head-on.

GSP is also investigating another fatal crash that happened Saturday morning on Arnold Mill Road.

A driver was killed after the Hyundai he was driving left the road while heading eastbound on Arnold Mill. The driver hit a utility pole and was then ejected from the car. He died at the scene. Officials said he was not wearing a seatbelt.
