Nathan Millard worked at Advanced Construction in Conyers. His coworkers told Washington they’ve been holding on to hope for weeks.

But, Monday’s news is simply crushing to everyone who knew the beloved father.

“It’s a nightmare that I wanna wake up from,” Amber Millard said.

Millard’s wife, Amber, told Channel 2 Action News that he attended a college basketball game, went to a few places around town, and was last seen leaving the pub.

“He was able to get college basketball tickets. He and I Facetimed while he was at the game,” Amber said.

That was the last time Amber said she saw her husband alive.

Millard was last seen on Feb. 23 around 11:30 p.m. at Happy’s Irish Pub on Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge.

He never made it back to his hotel. Surveillance images showed a stranger using Millard’s debit card, according to his wife.

His body was located about three miles from where he was last seen. WBRZ in Baton Rouge reports that Millard’s body was located in a vacant lot, wrapped in plastic, and rolled up in a rug.

No other details were immediately available. Police say the cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy.

Baton Rouge police told Washington they are not investigating this as a homicide, but that will most likely change after the autopsy is complete.
