NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Newton County fast food restaurant failed a health inspection with violations that included mold. The Krystal on Highway 278 in Covington currently operates as drive thru only because of the pandemic. On Sept. 29, the restaurant failed a health inspection with a score of 64.
Customer Bobby Reeves told Channel 2′s Carol Sbarge that surprised him because he had just eaten there. Violations included an ice machine with a mold like substance, french fries stored with raw chicken, and no soap at the hand washing sink.
