SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police say a mother has been charged with murder after she allegedly left her 3-year-old in the back of her car for hours.
Police charged Lillian Stone, 25, last week with child cruelty, but the charges were upgraded to murder when the child died four days ago, sources told Channel 2’s Nefertiti Jaquez.
Sources confirmed to Jaquez that Stone told police she was running errands and forgot the child in the back of her car, but they said they have evidence that shows otherwise.
In court last week, Stone’s family said she would never intentionally hurt her child and that this was all a terrible mistake.
