Man dead, woman injured in DeKalb Co. double shooting

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital following a double shooting inside a DeKalb County home.

Police said three children were inside the home on Rockmill Drive when the shooting took place late Wednesday night. Someone called 911, and when officers arrived, they found two people shot.

Police said they believe the shooting may be domestic-related, but they are not sure what triggered the violence.

"I wish this on no one, especially these kids that are running around, and I feel for the kids that may have seen something," neighbor John Gustard said.

Police did not say the relationship between the two shooting victims, but said the man died and the woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police have not released the woman's condition and said they are not looking for a gunman.

Police said they removed the children from the scene for their safety.
They told Channel 2 Action News that they did not have any prior history of calls at the house for anything including domestic incidents.

Neighbors said the residents moved into the house about seven months ago.

"This is too close to home," said Gustard. "It's sad that this has happened."
