FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — A Cedartown man was arrested Tuesday and faces a felony “peeping Tom” charge after police said he invaded a 10-year-old girl’s privacy in her own room.

According to the charging information from Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Zachary Joe Shortnacy was arrested after he recorded the girl at a Rome home just before 7 a.m. July 21.
The sheriff’s office said he unlawfully placed a phone “underneath a wall” and recorded a video of the girl for his own sexual gratification.

The offense report said he used a phone camera to secretly record the girl getting dressed, and the video included images of the girl shirtless. She didn’t know she was being recorded.
In addition to the felony, Shortnacy also faces a misdemeanor charge of surveillance which invades the privacy of another.
He remains in Floyd County Jail, without bond.
