STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — The attorney representing Stockbridge Mayor Jayden Williams has filed a second legal claim against the city of Stockbridge, Channel 2’s Ashli Lincoln reports.
This comes after the city announced this week it plans to release the findings of an independent investigation later this month into allegations of misspending and sexual misconduct.
The mayor’s attorney said in a statement he questions the city’s timing to release these findings, pointing to a civil court hearing scheduled just two days after the city plans to release those details.
The attorney also says Williams still has not been served with the final written allegations the city intends to use in seeking his removal.
Stockbridge City Councilman Elton Alexander told Channel 2 Action News in a statement: “The filing is disappointing, as residents of Stockbridge and myself would like to see a fair and equitable resolution to this as soon as possible, without delay, because the city needs to heal.”
