GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Buford City Schools topped the list of best school districts in Georgia released by Niche in its annual report. Buford is a small community nestled in between both Hall and Gwinnett counties.
The small but mighty district beat out 182 other districts.
Besides winning the overall distinction as best district, Buford City Schools was top ranked in many categories. Buford led the rankings in safest school, best place to teach, best school district for athletes and best public elementary.

“The Niche annual report is a valuable measure of how our community views the work our district is doing,” said BCS Superintendent, Dr. Robert Downs. “The fact that we continue to be ranked as the top school district through a year full of unique challenges speaks volumes of our incredible staff.
