GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Undercooked hamburgers were one of the reasons a fast food restaurant in Gwinnett County failed a health inspection.
The Checkers on Buford Drive in Lawrenceville got a 69 on May 26.
One customer told us that kind of score is bad business. Another customer said he isn’t worried.
The violations included multiple hamburger patties weren’t cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 155 degrees, person in charge not performing duties as assigned and a worker touching raw meat and then touching areas where cooked food was held.
Another thing the inspector noted was that the person in charge could not identify all five symptoms and illnesses that workers can’t have if they’re handling food.
No one from Checkers would talk to Channel 2 Action News about the violations.
When we went to the Checkers Thursday, they had not posted the current score for customers to see as is required.
The restaurant passed an inspection in February with an 88.
