JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Fulton County school police have launched an investigation to find vandals who defaced a high school in Johns Creek.
A custodian at Chattahoochee High School told Channel 2's Mike Petchenik that the vandals were busy over spring break using heavy-duty paint to scrawl vulgar language and images throughout the school.
"I walked around and it's all around the building," school custodian Londale Outlaw said.
Channel 2 Action News had cameras at the school Sunday as crews used a power washer to blast the graffiti off the sidewalks.
"We've got to get the right stuff because it's not coming up. (It will take) a couple of days because what we're using might just blur it out a little bit, but you can still read it," Outlaw said.
The school has surveillance cameras, and officials are going through video to see if they can identify the suspects.
"They need to be held accountable," parent Kim Thompson said.
Thompson told Petchenik that she was shocked that someone would deface the school.
"I think it's crazy. It doesn't make sense. They just renovated the school," Thompson said.
Thompson told Petchenik that she wants the students caught and prosecuted.
"Our tax money paid for these renovations, so they need to be held accountable, have some type of disciplinary action," Thompson said. "I just think it's sad."
Petchenik got an email late Monday from school officials, who said they won't release any surveillance video at this point because it's an ongoing investigation.
